It all started in the summer of 2000 at Kenny’s Rib. I was working there with my best friend, Ki Ki, who also happens to be Mark’s cousin. One day, Mark leaned over to Ki Ki and whispered, “I bet I can get her to talk to me.” Ki Ki, not buying it, said, “Nah, I don’t think so, not her.” Well, we exchanged numbers anyway. A few dates later, he went back to college, and we continued our little long-distance dance whenever he came home for breaks. By December, when he moved back for good, we made it official. He even went to my senior prom with me, three years of laughs, love, and late-night adventures followed. After an unexpected breakup, life carried us in different directions. But 11 years later, we found our way back to each other. And now, 11 years after that reunion, we’re beyond thrilled to celebrate our love, surrounded by our family, friends, and before God, as we take the next step in our story together.
