Romano - Famous Israeli chef restaurant, Eyal Shani. Mediterranean, Israeli style food, located inside Teder FM (also a great place to get a drink and hangout). Must order the fresh bread and the cauliflower. Cassata - Famous chef Eyal Shani's ice cream shop, super unique and yummy flavors! Located behind Teder FM, in Park Hamesila. Suzana - Breakfast/lunch spot in a fun area with nice shopping, and super close to the beach! Hatraklin Meat & Wine Bistro - Great steak restaurant, cozy and quiet vibes located in a beautifully preserved house. Okinawa - Our go to Sushi restaurant in beautiful Neve Tzedek, reasonably priced for Tel Aviv Sushi. If you want to go big, down the same street is TYO sushi. Meshek Barzilay - The BEST vegan restaurant! You do not have to be vegan to enjoy their food and dessert. Neither of us are v/vg but we love to come here for date nights and enjoy all dairy free/gluten freee food for Elana.
Ouzeria - Mediterranean, Greek, Israeli style food, small plates, great for sharing! Aluf Batslut - Our favorite wine bar in the neighborhood. Dede - Neighborhood bar! Our usual hangout spot, great bar food, drinks and fun staff. Tony and Esther - Located inside Levinsky Market, good for anytime of the day. Best place to order schnitzel! Sabich Frischman - Sabich is a vegetarian street food option, staring warm eggplant and potatoes inside a warm pita. One of Tamir's faves! Locations in Levinsky Market, Carmel Market, Jaffa Flea Market, and Dizengoff Square. Hamotzi Lechem - Best bakery in Levinsky Market, highly recommend the chocolate babka and the sweet challah. POC Cafe - Classic Florentine staple for morning coffee, tea and pastries. Kiosko - Great place for morning coffee and sandwiches, also a great place to sit for the day if you have to work.
Kalamata - Greek restaurant in Old Jaffa overlooking the Mediterranean sea. Puaa - Located in the Jaffa Flea Market. Cool menu and great hangout vibes. There are many great spots to sit and grab a coffee, or a drink and food in this area!
Jasmino - Best Israeli street food, especially for a late night munch! Chicken or kabab options in a pita, and if you like spicy ask for the amba sauce. There's no sign for this place, so just trust the address on your maps and the line of hungry people! Port Sa'id - Famous Israeli chef restaurant, Eyal Shani. High quality, simple Israeli/Mediterranean dishes. You cannot make reservations here, if you want to go and not wait in line, we suggest you go before they open at 12:00pm before there is a line! M25 - Delicious, low-key meat place. HaTaco - Very lowkey taco pop-up in the market. Absolutely delicious! Only Tuesdays they serve fish! Tamara - Best yogurt (vegan options)!
Joz Ve Loz - Amazing concept restaurant where there are no menus and no prices, your server will get to know you and serve you food and drinks according to your taste. The chefs cook with whatever fresh ingredients they bought that day. Only recommend if you want a long dinner and are willing to spend money (you pay what you think your meal was worth, recommendation is starting from 250 shekel per person). Located in a beautifully preserved event space, however the area around the restaurant is not so nice (you will be confused when you get there but once you walk in it will make sense), we suggest you take a taxi to and from this restaurant. Bucke - Order the Israeli breakfast. Imperial Bar - Really special cocktails! Cafe Noir - Tel Aviv staple, great schnitzel!
Nice area to sit for something to eat or drink, great place to buy fresh, local fruits, dried fruits, spices and more. During Friday afternoons, this area is packed before Shabbat and a sight to see! Check out in our list of recommendations places to eat in Levinsky Market.
Elana & Yona's Neighborhood :) Walk around Neve Tzedek and explore one of Tel Aviv's most beautiful neighborhoods. You can find many avant-garde design stores, fashion boutiques, and handicraft shops, as well as fun restaurants. If you walk all the way down Shabazi Street, you will end up at a park that leads you right to the beach, or to the old train station area.
Nice way to walk to or home from the beach, places to stop for coffee or snacks, or a nice spot for a picnic or to relax and enjoy some people watching!
The Jaffa Flea Market (Shuk Hapishpishim in Hebrew) is a small flea market where you can buy chachkies/souvenirs and gifts. There are many side streets all around this area where you can find fun places to eat or grab a drink. There is a mix of shopping options, from fun, casual, vintage, to high end clothing and jewelry stores, most of which are local artists and/or owners. On Friday mornings and afternoons before Shabbat you can also find an art fair happening with all local artists.
The most southern tip of the Tel Aviv promenade along the Mediterranean takes you here to the Jaffa port! If you walk farther past the port, you will find yourself in Old Jaffa, with beautiful greenery and views of the sunset and the city of Tel Aviv, and one of our favorite Greek restaurants called Kalamata. We recommend exploring these areas of Jaffa.
Carmel Market (Shuk HaCarmel in Hebrew) is a must visit! You can walk around, buy gifts and chachkies for friends back home, eat delicious street food, and buy fresh food and spices. You will also experience the culture of Israeli bargaining (encouraged, but good luck!!). Start on Allenby Street and head all the way through towards the beach.
Beautiful street that can lead you directly into the Carmel Market. Tuesday and Friday mornings and afternoons enjoy an art fair full of local Israeli artists selling all types of fun and beautiful things! Many of the local artists love engaging in conversation and meeting tourists; it's a great opportunity to meet Israeli's and support the artist community.
Dizengoff Square (Kikar Dizengoff in Hebrew) is a fun central area to walk around. You can walk down this very long street towards the north of Tel Aviv and along the way find lots of shopping, boutiques, and outdoor bars.
Come visit Elana at her office on Floor 1 :) Welcome to Israel’s largest indoor food market. Sarona Market is a unique food experience and a true heaven for foodies. Just like the world’s leading food markets, in Sarona Market you will find dozens of booths selling tasty dishes and street food, alongside cheeses, oils, dips and spreads, and pickled vegetables from around the world, fresh meat and fish, premium produce, wine, spices, coffee, tea, products from the Far and Near East, and unique high-quality raw ingredients.
The promenade (tayelet in Hebrew) goes all the way from the most southern edge of Tel Aviv from the Jaffa port to the Tel Aviv port (namal in Hebrew) on the northern tip. There are many different beaches to check out along the way! If you bring your own towels to lay on and want to experience the Tel Aviv scene, we recommend Geula and Trumpeldor beach, but if you want to rent chairs we recommend any beach north from there, for example Gordon beach is a great option. Either way, you can't go wrong!
