Buffet dinner of traditional Indian food will be served. During the Gaye Holud ceremony, the bride and groom’s family and friends create a paste out of turmeric which they then put on the bride and groom’s bodies. This is thought of as a way to ward off the evil eye and promote blessings, good fortune, and prosperity for the couple. Also, just like red, the yellow color of turmeric is believed to be auspicious for marriage rituals. It will supposedly make way for positivity and prosperity to enter the lives of the bride and groom. This is why most couples wear yellow while participating in the ritual.
