Aaron took me to the Melting Pot for my very first birthday living in the US. They are absolutely incredible and offer a 4-course meal, fondue style. You start by picking a cheese base that comes with fruits, vegetables and bread dippers followed by a salad. The third course is where you choose a broth as your base and order meats and vegetables as your main course dippers - duck, steak, chicken, fish, lobster, etc. The final course (MY FAV) is the chocolate base served with sweets & fruits for dipping like strawberries, waffles, cookie covered marshmallows, sponge cake, brownies, etc.
These are our friends and breeders that we bought Star, Harper and Shy from. They have been breeding and selling alpacas for 20 years and are a wealth of knowledge if you wanted to do a llama hike with their classic ladies, Bella & Dixie, or wanted to buy alpaca/llama products from their farm store. Their farm is about 25 minutes from our house.
Some weekends there are events, concerts, food trucks and festivals at Carol Creek. On weekends there are no events, we go and walk down the 1.5 mile long creek and hit the local coffee shop - Frederick Coffee Co. & Cafe - as well as surrounding businesses in historic downtown Frederick.
We went here on our first date for cider and trivia. It is a small cider operation that brings in an MC for Trivia on Fridays and 1-2 food/cider trucks. There are fire pits and igloos for bigger groups as well but you need a reservation for these.
