Elaina says: I first saw Mike years ago when I was 18 and working for the yellow submarine in town. I remember seeing him tying up the Scuba Cat and thinking, "Wow, I want to meet him!". I ended up leaving the island for about a year after that and I never had a chance to meet him. Then in 2016 I started working for Scuba Luv. In 2017 Scuba Luv was bought out by CDS and Mike and I became co-workers. We spent long nights filling tanks, and long days working on the dive boat together, and that's really where we fell in love, although it didn't happen right away. Mike kissed me for the first time on my 21st birthday, then it took another month before he kissed me again! Our first official date was at the Aquarium in Long Beach, and we have spent almost every day together since then. We moved into our first apartment about a year after that. We started fostering cats and kittens for the humane society, and Mike fell in love with Mighty, so we adopted our first cat together. After 3 years of dating, I was SO ready to be engaged! I knew he was the one right from the start. I just had to wait for him to catch up! He finally proposed to me on a beautiful dock in Roatan, Honduras after chugging a beer! Haha I'm sure he'll need to chug a beer before the wedding too, for traditions sake! I've never met anyone so caring, compassionate, patient and kind. He is truly my soulmate, and I can't wait to spend forever with him! Mike says: I'd like to think the first time I saw Elaina was when the dive shops merged; thinking back, I do remember working on the Pier and a friend asking, "What do you think about the new girl working the 'Nautilus'?". I only caught a glimpse and realized I had no idea who that was and the blue jumpsuits look pretty silly on just about anyone! Never saw her again until our shops merged. After the merge we spent many days working together and got to know each other very well. The more I got to know her the more I could see how special she truly is. Our lives merged seamlessly as we spent almost everyday together; and it wasn't long before we were searching for our first apartment. I bought the engagement ring in November and kept it hidden until our vacation in MARCH! I was terrified she would find it early; even more terrified when I proposed. She said "YES", and I've never been happier. As time rolls on I'm more and more sure that together we can get through anything. She is perfect and I love her more and more everyday and will continue to do so for the rest of our lives. Oct 1, 2022 the knot will be tied and will be a party for the ages! I can't wait!
