You know when you meet someone and you’re like, "Oh wow, I am going to marry this person." Well, I had that. Did we know when we met that it would lead to the future we’re living? Not exactly, but did we know we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together? Oh, most definitely! We met at Old Mine House and hit it off right away. We immediately followed that night with a date the next day. Then we continued by dating every weekend until we decided to make it official. From there, we continued to live our fast-paced life. We spent the holiday season together, meeting the most important people in our lives. We rang in the new year together and prepared to continue all our "firsts" for the year. We spent the year going on trips and dates, falling more and more in love. On July 8th, Tyler got down on one knee and proposed. We also learned that I was pregnant! By August, we were moving in together. In September, we found out our baby was going to be a boy! On February 21st, we welcomed Rainer James into the world. Our love story continued as we navigated becoming parents. We saw new sides of each other that made us fall in love all over again. Watching the love of your life become a parent is such a great feeling. We are continuing our love story as we learn and grow together as a family, and we couldn’t be more excited.
You know how some kids have their security blanket or stuffed animal? Well, picture that attachability, but it’s a 6ft man and it’s a bright red backpack. Here we are in Palm Beach, Florida. It’s just my family, me, Tyler, and his bright red backpack. "Hey, let’s go check out the pools." "Let me grab my backpack!" "It’s time for dinner. We’re going to a nice restaurant tonight." "Okay, let me just grab my backpack!" "Grab your snorkel, we’re going to the reef." "Wait, what about my backpack?" Fast forward five days into the trip. Tyler walks me to the edge of our resort and into a palm tree covered area to take pictures. He dug through the bright red backpack and, for the first time all trip... he sat the bag down! We snapped some pictures, and before I knew it, he was down on one knee asking me to be his wife. He opened the box and showed me my beautiful new ring. That beautiful ring that he protected and kept right by his side until he felt the moment was right. It was perfect, beautiful, and a moment I’ll never forget. And so the saga of the bright red backpack comes to an end.
