What seemed like a romantic Valentine's weekend getaway to Albania turned out to be one of the happiest moments of our lives. We touched down at Tirana Airport on the 13th of February, and the magic began immediately. Chigozie had arranged for a bouquet of roses with freshly picked petals, which he placed in Ekene's hands as she brimmed with excitement on the drive to their hotel apartment. The warmth of that gesture set the tone for everything that was to follow. Unbeknownst to Ekene, Chigozie had been quietly orchestrating something far more special. Working closely with the hotel management, he had arranged for their room to be transformed into something truly breathtaking — rose petals scattered across every surface, elegant flowers, balloons, and a beautifully lit "Will You Marry Me?" inscription waiting in the room. At check-in, Chigozie gently suggested Ekene relax in the lobby while he went ahead to "confirm their accommodation was in order." A few moments later, he returned to escort her upstairs. As Ekene walked through the door, she was met with an overwhelming wave of beauty and emotion — the stunning setup stopped her in her tracks. She turned around, heart racing, to find Chigozie down on one knee. With eyes full of love and a voice filled with tender admiration, he spoke words straight from the heart — words that captured everything she meant to him — and ended with the question: "Will you marry me?" She said yes. Happily, joyfully, wholeheartedly — yes. That solemn, intimate moment — just the two of them, suspended in time — will live in their hearts forever. The celebration continued on Valentine's Day itself with a spectacular Gala Night at Hotel Bleart. The evening unfolded beautifully — welcome cocktails, wine tasting, and a sumptuous dinner of traditional Albanian delicacies. As the live music filled the room with warmth and rhythm, Chigozie and Ekene took to the dance floor alongside other couples, swaying together in a moment of pure joy — newly engaged and dancing the night away in a foreign land that had already stolen their hearts. Then came the most breathtaking finale of the evening. As the night drew to a close, every guest was handed a red candle balloon. Together, in one simultaneous and magical moment, they were all lit and released into the night sky — dozens of glowing red lights rising slowly upward, painting the darkness with warmth and wonder.
