From East to West and to the Heart of the World

How Our Paths Crossed

In 2002, Katya traveled from Krasnodar, Russia to Fairbanks, Alaska, while Oleg traveled from Baku, Azerbaijan to Los Angeles, California. It was not until 2015, when by a random chance, through a chain of multiple acquaintances, they were introduced at a vibrant, Russian party, at the heart of the Nation's Capital, Washington, D.C. There may have been a spark then, but fate was not quite ready for them. Two years passed and the couple-to-be was reunited at the same place, same party, by a random chance. They have not parted since. Another two, incredibly fulfilling years followed. Katya and Oleg have shared two beautiful apartments together, went on travel adventures of a lifetime, formed special friendships and most importantly, acquired their first cat, Toby, who became the love of their lives.  In 2019, Katya and Oleg went on another fantastic adventure to Baku, Azerbaijan. One day they ventured deep into the mountains of the Caucasus, to a beautiful waterfall. The journey was long and perilous, but it was there, in the midst of cold water crashing down, where Oleg knelt down and surprised Katya with a beautiful ring. That magical moment will be remembered forever! Katya and Oleg love each other's families and greatly appreciate all of their love and support of their union. And they will live happily ever after!
