We Are Getting Married!

Richard and I started communicating on a Sunday on the Hinge Dating App. As I was coming back from church with my mom, he and I were still texting as the day went on. During that ride back from church, I shared with my mom that I found this guy on this dating app and he happens to be Nigerian. Because of how well the conversation was flowing, I shared with my Mom how I jokingly told Richard that we must have met in daycare because we had lived in Gaithersburg when I was younger and Richard did as well. So later that week on Friday, Richard text me and asked if I would like to go out and get some drinks. I said "sure" and we chose a few Rooftop locations and decided to meet up at one of the Rooftops in DC. Even though it was super windy that day, Richard and I continued talking and getting to know one another better. We did not want the date night to end so went to another Rooftop in DC and continued the conversation there! Much later in the night, we ran into Richard's cousin, Vanessa, and the rest of the night was history. I had such a great time and it was so easy going with Richard and I loved it! So there's a funny story about what I was thinking while I was in my Uber on the way to meet Richard, who was waiting on me to arrive. I kept thinking to myself I hope he looks like his profile picture. (You know with online date, it can be a hit or miss). Thankfully and to my pleasant surprise, he did! I love beards so when I first saw him, I asked if he was capable of growing a beard because ALL his pictures online, he had a beard. So he said "yes" and by our third date on Valentine's Day, he had his beard. During this Valentine's Day date, we went roller skating. We ended up running into my cousin on that date and things went really well - AGAIN! Ever since then, it has been nothing but love and great vibes. We have a lot go fun together with everything we do. It is always a great time and I enjoy being with him, going different places. That is something I love about being with Richard; things with him are so natural and full of love. With him, things are so effortless because he has such a big, amazing heart and it is evident in everything we do. He makes me feel safe and loved all the time and he gets me. It is not hard with us; we just have a very organic understanding of one another and it makes this journey of love with him all the more special. Richard is my favorite person and I love it. And yea, I love him!

I was scrolling online on the dating app, Hinge, I came across Ekata's profile and initially I thought "hmm, cute pictures; she catches my eye". So yes, I swiped right. We started messaging each other and later in the week I reached out to her and asked if she would like to go out for some drinks that Friday night. The weather was nice and I wanted to have a nice drink with a lady friend and when she said yes, we made plans to meet up. When I first saw her in person, I felt that her online pictures matched what I saw in person because she was just as cute. She had a nice style to her; she dressed well and she smelled good! After my initial thoughts, we greeted each other, embraced and the first date went on from there. We have such a great time together all the time. We have a lot of similar likes, so that makes enjoying each other's company and having fun easier. One of the things I love most about Ekata is her calmness when we communicate. She is never too quick to assume things. I love that she listens to what I am trying to communicate/covey to her. As we continued to date, I felt peace. She is always on my mind from the start of my day until the end. It was easy for me to tell that she considers me and thinks of me throughout the day and I am not just an afterthought to her. In moments, when I saw her defending my name and my character, that was it for me! I just knew she was the one! We can go anywhere and do anything; things always feel peaceful. It is always good vibes, good feels and a warmness about each other. One of the most special moments I was honored to share with her is when she cared for her dad. Seeing her in that light where she was so caring and loving, truly opened my eyes to see her beautiful heart. The natural nurturing, her care and affection for her dad is beautiful, and the fact that I was able to help her and be a part of such a significant moment with her was amazing to me. We worked well as a team that day and it let me know and see how she would care for me if I was sick or in need. That is a great feeling for me to have. I am looking forward to creating a lifetime of memories with her! From having kids to building our future in every way.
