Senior year of high school marked the beginning of Katie and Ethan’s love story. Their relationship began when an upcoming government exam finally gave Katie an excuse to reach out to him to study together at their local coffee shop. Mutual bad grades on the test led Katie and Ethan to the conclusion that they were better as friends than as study buddies. As the year progressed, they extended their friendship into drives along the coast, late-night food adventures, and binge-watching One Tree Hill. With college on the horizon, they planned to do long distance. Though it worked for most of their freshman year, Elon and Boulder were a few too many states away. Katie and Ethan decided the best decision for both of them would be to take some time apart. In their senior year of college, the two reconnected and started talking again. Call it luck, call it fate, or maybe a bit of both, but their paths crossed again in Wisconsin. Katie and Ethan decided to give their relationship a second chance, this time for good. On March 31st, 2022, Ethan proposed on a white sand beach in Hawaii. The two are now living together in Carlsbad, California with the first member of their family, a four-legged foster fail named Lola. Katie and Ethan can’t wait to say “I do” this August, and start the next chapter of their love story.
