We met in our freshman year of high school in 2009 and felt an instant connection. So much so, that we "dated" for an entire 3 weeks (we both remember our moms dropping us off for movie dates), until Jake left for a summer program in Argentina. It was during this separation that we decided maybe it would be better to remain good friends for the time being. Our close friendship lasted throughout high school, undergraduate studies, Jake’s professional baseball career with the Cubs, Erin’s completion of her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, stretching across multiple cities. Timing for us finally became perfect when we both returned to Phoenix in August of 2019. After spending ten consecutive days together, we quickly realized we could not imagine spending another day apart. It was at the height of Covid when we decided - spontaneously - to move to Alaska together. In June, 2020, we began our new life adventure and now, 15 years after our first meeting, we plan to return to our beloved hometown, Phoenix, to get married! The place where we met, became best friends, and fell in love. We are so excited for this new chapter in our lives and are overjoyed to share our special day with our families and closest friends.
