Ashton and Elizabeth's love story began like most young couples in San Francisco, on tinder. Just kidding, it's even better than that. They met at a friends house warming party on St. Patrick's Day. Thanks for throwing an epic party James!... It was clear from the moment they met there was chemistry. They quickly discovered they both were Finance nerds and had a special place in their heart for Aptos with Ashton having grown up there and Elizabeth having spent many holidays there to see family. In the weeks following the party the two found creative ways to see each other again, with Ashton offering to help Elizabeth study for her Master's program and Elizabeth offering to play a game or two on Ashton's soccer team. In May 2016, they finally went on their first date to Lands End where they went on a chilly hike with hot tea in hand. Since then, Elizabeth and Ashton have been creating memories all over the country and beyond. Like that one time Elizabeth saved Ashton from...well we can save that for another time.

In May 2019, on a beautiful spring hike in Santa Cruz, Elizabeth and Ashton decided that they wanted to take the next step and commit the rest of their lives to each other. On August 2, 2019, Ashton took Elizabeth back to the place they had their first date and proposed!
