Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Joshua Woods and Eric Vorst
Founded in 1833, burned down in the Great Fire of 1871, and rebuilt in enough time to host the Columbian Exhibition World's Fair in 1893, Chicago truly is a world class city, and we sincerely hope you take some time to see some of what it has to offer! Here are a few of our recommendations. We've listed the largest, most family friendly recommendations first, with more adult oriented activities further down the list.
Lincoln Park Zoo

Lincoln Park Zoo

Chicago, IL 60614

Lincoln Park Zoo, also known as Lincoln Park Zoological Gardens, is a 35-acre zoo in Lincoln Park, Chicago, Illinois. The zoo was founded in 1868, making it the fourth oldest zoo in North America. It is also one of a few free admission zoos in all of North America. Tags: Free, Family Friendly

Chicago Riverwalk

Chicago Riverwalk

11 E Riverwalk South, Chicago, IL 60601

Located on the south bank of the Chicago River, the award-winning, pedestrian-friendly Chicago Riverwalk stretches 1.25 miles from Lake Michigan to Lake Street. Along the way you’ll discover intimate coves, breezy cafes, wineries and bars, public art, monuments, museums, and a boatload of excursions on the water. BONUS: The river should be dyed green for St. Patrick's Day! 🍀 Tags: Free, Family Friendly, Drinking, Dining, Outdoors

Navy Pier

600 East Grand Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611

Navy Pier is a 3,300-foot-long (1,010 m) pier on the shoreline of Lake Michigan. It is one of the most visited attractions in the entire Midwest and is Chicago's second-most visited tourist attraction! Tags: Free, Family Friendly, Shopping, Dining, Drinking, Outdoors

Sightseeing River Boat Tour

Sightseeing River Boat Tour

Multiple Launch Points, Chicago, IL

Chicago is a city of great architecture, and the river provides a great vantage point to see the most of it. If you have the time, we always recommend a river boat tour for people visiting the city! Tags: Attractions, Boat Tours, Family Friendly

The Dearborn

The Dearborn

145 North Dearborn Street, Chicago, IL 60602

Ask for the Manhattan or the Old Fashioned from the big curly decanter on the bar. You will enjoy.

Soul Prime

Via Carducci La Sorella

Via Carducci La Sorella

1928 West Division Street, Chicago, IL 60622

One of our favorite Italian restaurants in Chicago. We recommend the Gnocchi, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Reservations strongly recommended. Tags: Dining, Italian, Reservations Recommended

Park & Field

Park & Field

3509 West Fullerton Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647

One of our favorite places for a boozy, bottomless brunch (try saying that three times, fast...after the brunch). Recommendations strongly encouraged! Tags: 21+, Bottomless Brunch, Boozy Brunch, Drinking, Dining, Reservations Recommended

Village Bucktown

1850 West Webster Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614

Illinois is a recreational use state. This is one of the dispensaries Eric and I like here in Illinois. They're cash or debit only. If you're new to the "wacky tobacky" (or it's been a while), just remember to take it slow. Start with one 5-10 mg edible and wait a couple of hours. Tags: Recreational Use, 21+, Cash/Debit Only
