The hotel has a lovely restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a very elegant bar area also. In the basement of the hotel, there are fun things to do such as a bowling alley, a basketball court and a few other fun things.
Reynolda House was built by RJ and Katherine Reynolds as a family home. It is a fun place to tour and also has an attached art museum that has various exhibits throughout the year. You would need to get an Uber/Lyft from downtown.

Just beyond Reynolda Gardens is Reynolda Village, a complex of building that was once the working farm of Reynolda House. It is now full of wonderful shops, restaurants and coffee shops.
Piedmont Craftsmen is a wonderful gallery full of all sorts of handcrafts, like glass, jewelry, fabrics, ceramics, etc. It is walkable from the hotel and is located on Trade Street, where there are a number of restaurants and shops. Try the Mast General Store for all the things you didn't know you needed.
You can walk to Old Salem from the hotel. Old Salem is the original Moravian settlement and it has been fantastically well preserved. Most of the houses are still private homes, adding to the sense of place. There is a visitor center which tells you all about Old Salem. You can buy tickets to go into various buildings or you can just walk around and enjoy the area. At Winklers Bakery you can buy Moravian cookies and other treats. Salem College, the oldest college educating women in the US, is part of Old Salem.
