The day Nikki moved to Astoria, Queens, she and bridesmaid Holly decided to hop on the N/Q train and head into Manhattan with no set plans. Pete and groomsman Connor had the same idea. Moments after Nikki and Holly took a seat on the EMPTY train, Pete and Connor sat right across from them. Conversation started and they joined one another at a bar in Manhattan. Nikki left for nearly an hour to get pizza with her roommate, but was pleasantly surprised when Pete was still there when she returned. The two exchanged numbers and the rest is history!

Surrounded by family, friends and lots of champagne, Pete proposed in one of the couple's favorite places "the flats" on Fourth Lake of the Fulton Chain in the Adirondacks. Bruno Mars "Marry You" was playing in the background and it was absolute perfection!
