2008 || During Lauren's freshman year and Sam’s senior year, they shared a lunch table with a few of their other friends. Lauren vividly remembers her first impression of Sam, and thought he was hilarious and could throw down some zebra cakes and chocolate milk (still true). She also quickly learned that he had the biggest heart and the best laugh. None of these things have changed 14 years later. After Sam graduated that year, they lost touch other than occasionally running into each other at FZW hockey games. 2013 || Thankfully, their paths crossed again. After a night out watching a Blues vs. Blackhawks game and eating a ton of chips and queso, Lauren was reminded of what made Sam so special! When they were together, they were constantly laughing, and it was so simple and fun. After a few months, Lauren finally introduced Sam to her family. At this time, he was missing his front tooth and actually re-broke her mom’s wrist when he shook her hand. This may not seem like the best first impression, but her whole family immediately loved that goofy guy! 2020 || On their first night down at Tablerock Lake for their vacation, Sam and Lauren's sister, Morgan, were pretty adamant about going fishing even though it was super chilly and raining. Although she really didn’t want to, she decided to tag along. They slowly made their way back to their favorite cove and the rain was really picking up. She went to open up the tackle boxes to get their fishing poles set up and a ring box was in there. Sam got down on his knee and asked Lauren to marry him in their favorite spot, which is of course even more special now. It was the most perfect night!
