We don't recall the very first time that we "met." What we do know is that it was an XP Church online event. There were a number of online group events since then where we met, but talked little. It was not until the church was able to have its first in-person event after several years in 2023, that the two of us started to get closer. We both volunteered as staff and on the worship team and the last night of the event was spent playing board games until late at night with several friends. Following this event, the two of us went back to our homes in two different states and began learning more about each other through messaging and video calls. This continued with semi-regular in-person meetings in Ohio, Elisha making the 7+ hour drive from Virginia, until March 2024 when Elisha moved to Ohio on Easter weekend and met Heather's parents for the first time. The summer was spent going on dates and having deep conversations with the future of our relationship in mind. In September 2024, we made a trip to New York for Elisha's brother's wedding, where Heather got to meet Elisha's family. One month later, Elisha brought Heather a custom jigsaw puzzle with a QR code that ended in an engagement.
