It was the day after Valentine’s Day. That Sunday, Lance knew something was different. Before church, he felt the Lord tell him exactly where to sit. When he arrived at the service, he saw Elizabeth and immediately felt drawn to her. He remembers sensing her presence so strongly that he knew he had to speak to her. He sat only a few rows away, wondering who she was. At the same time, God was preparing Elizabeth too. She had originally planned to attend an earlier service and was already on her way when she suddenly felt the Holy Spirit prompting her to wait and attend the later service instead. Throughout the morning, she felt the Lord guiding even the smallest details — what to wear that day and even the unusual prompting to bring only one business card with her. Later, she would realize exactly why. During the service, the pastor asked if there were any singles in the room. Normally shy and hesitant, Elizabeth never would have raised her hand, but that Sunday, she did. Across the room, Lance noticed her raising her hand and felt even more eager to connect with her after church. As Elizabeth was leaving church, Lance approached her. The connection was instant. They bonded over their love for Jesus and art, and both felt that something beautiful was beginning. Before the day was over, Lance asked Elizabeth on their first date. Elizabeth said yes and handed Lance the one business card she had brought with her. They walked away with a feeling they just met the person they would marry. From that day forward, they knew God had begun writing a beautiful story for their lives together.
