It is difficult to recall when and where it all began. Jenny's first memory of Brent is from when they were about six when his family moved across the street from her best friend Gabby's house. The girls spent many hours playing outside on the trampoline and Jenny remembers being especially excited when she heard that Michael and Brent would be coming over to play. A few years later, during the Downriggers holiday party, Jenny and Brent both anxiously awaited their turn on the snazzy new karaoke machine. Both of them just so happened to know the lyrics to the B-52's "Love Shack", so naturally an epic duet was born. It just maybe could have been the first of many viral videos had YouTube and camera phones existed, but those five minutes of groovy glory were obviously meant solely for the two destined lovebirds. In the next decade, Jenny and Brent were nothing more than acquaintances as their one grade difference kept them in separate spheres. But one day during Jenny's 11th grade year and Brent's 12th, some playful joking in the halls of Friday Harbor High School eventually blossomed into the typical teen relationship characterized by a level of inseparability and infatuation verging on terrifying. While spending increasing more time together, they developed a common saying to reinforce their fondness for each other: "I'm not sick of you yet". They never did get sick of each other. Even when they forced themselves to separate when Brent left for college and even after almost two years of individual growth, they knew their paths were meant to meet again. Since rekindling in 2013, the two have cumulatively experienced 5 years of college, 12 household moves, 4 years of long distance, 4 overseas trips, countless periods of transition, struggle, personal and partnership reflection, and inexplicable joyfulness. Needless to say, they're still not sick of each other. In fact, they're arguably just as inseparable and as infatuated as ever. Much love, Brenny.
