Thanks to a small network of mutual friends (shout out to Gina, Ryan and Sarah), Kristin and Jesse met each other at enough parties and bars for sparks to fly. It was not a smooth start to say the least. Jesse's pick up line "Do you want to come over and meet my hedgehog?" was much more effective than his next pick up line "Do you want to come over? My hedgehog died". Despite some early bumps in the road, (vastly different taste in music, Jesse being the messiest one in a house of seven guys and Kristin not remembering Jesse’s eye color) the relationship persevered through the remainder of college. Although they tried their best to avoid things “getting serious”, when Jesse moved to Virginia in 2014 breaking up just didn’t seem like an option (even when staying together meant driving seven hours each way and sometimes even on Sundays when Chick-Fil-A wasn't open). In April of 2016, Jesse moved back to New York to Sunnyside in the unfinished apartment downstairs from Kristin's grandma. They cleaned up the apartment together and then Kristin moved in too. Together, they tackled all the trials and tribulations of their 20’s: grad school, new careers, a global pandemic, ten foster dogs and living in an apartment with no dishwasher. On May 15, 2021, Jesse, Kristin and Jeff went on a hike. Jesse proposed and in between pollen-induced sneezes, Kristin said yes. The two have been slowly stumbling through wedding planning ever since. Kristin and Jesse look forward to celebrating their love with friends and family by throwing a big ass party on May 20, 2023. See you there!
