Backstory
He said...
We knew we were going to get married within months of starting our relationship. In our non-traditional style, we picked a date and reserved the chapel far before the official proposal. Since I knew the main items were taken care of, I found it entertaining to tease Alex and would tell her... “I have two hours before the wedding to officially proposal”. She was not entrained by this and frequently protested. Her family, friends and mainly myself were highly amused by it though.
Proposal
She said...
We were on a mission to cut down our Christmas tree. I was determined to bring home the biggest tree in the forest and Pat was trying to set limits that it could not be longer than the truck bed. As we were tromping around and I was annoyed by the imposed tree limitation, we stopped by my favorite water fall. As I turned around, Pat was on one knee holding a beautiful ring. Before a word came out of his mouth, I grab the ring, put it on my finger and said... “I'll let you know two hours before the wedding!”. I had my response ready for what seemed like forever and it was finally my turn to use it! I knew once those words left my mouth, if I did not act quickly, I really would be waiting until two hours before the wedding. By the way, we ultimately came home with two trees, one met Pat's criteria. Fallers- McCloud November 27, 2022
