The bus will leave NYC at 10 AM sharp on 9/21. We are suggesting that you fly in by Thursday 9/20 at the latest.
There are 3 places to consider, but NYC is the most optimal because we will only be providing transportation to FLC from NYC. NYC - JFK, Newark (EWR), and LGA are all options. Although Newark is in NJ, it's a simple train into the city Boston - We have many friends who will be traveling to camp from Boston so if it works for you, and can help set up carpools! Albany - This is the closest airport to camp (about an hour), but it has very few direct flights and is not an international airport, so you would likely need to change in Boston or NYC anyway.
If you are flying into NYC, we will provide a bus from NYC to FLC. If you live in NYC and would like to go up on the bus, let us know!
1) 3.5 hours from NYC 2) 3.5 - 4 hours from Boston 3) 1 hour from Albany 4) 15 minutes from Lake George or Bolton Landing 5) Very far from London, sorry guys! *traffic pending. We suggest you fly out late on Sunday evening (no earlier than 8PM), or Monday morning*
Friday Night… cocktail casual. Apparently, this a common wedding term but what exactly does cocktail casual mean? Let’s help you out… I will be wearing a maxi dress (think summer dress, nothing formal), and Robert will be wearing jeans and a button down or polo. However, we know some of you will be rolling up just as the BBQ starts so please come in with whatever you are wearing as we don’t care at all! Just be wearing something! Saturday night – It’s a wedding! Dress as you would for any other wedding. That’s all you need to know nothing more! Suggesting that ladies (or men, we won’t discriminate) wear sandals, flats or wedges due to the terrain. Fascinators encouraged and yes people will be wearing them. Friday/Saturday during the day - sports clothes for activities, flip flops, a bathing suit1 Friday/Saturday campfire - jeans/yoga pants and sweatshirts *It gets cold at night so make sure to bring extra items to layer on*
YES! Let’s just say we wouldn’t have a wedding if cabins didn’t have electricity. However, it’s a camp so we ask that you do not have every phone charging and every hairdryer to be on at the same time!
o Not entirely sure, but if there is there is very little service so put your phone away and enjoy the weekend in the woods! o But I need to facetime my kids? We so get this! The town of Warrensburg is 10 minutes away and you can find several places with Wifi there.
Yes! There would have been zero chance as a camper that I would have walked to an outhouse!
OK guys there might be electricity and bathrooms in the cabin so this is classified as a luxury camp BUT no there is no AC and no heat. We will all be just fine!
o Well in America the one job that you can be wrong at all the time is the weather man so even leading up to the wedding we won’t know! Here’s what I do know: During the day it’s hit or miss - hot, cold, or rainy. Don’t worry Mama Hearst was a camp director so we have rainy day activities planned which may or may not include hula hoops. In the evening it will be 55-60 degrees so check out your camp packing list to keep warm! Bring extra blankets. (if you are traveling in, don’t worry we have you covered)
o Ok so it’s “your partner” who snores…. Sure, sure! So does Robert (ok kidding, it’s me!). We all snore! Don’t worry we will have ear plugs for everyone!
