Efren and Brittany's story began when they met in high school through mutual friends in paddling and quickly became inseparable. Most weekends were spent hanging out with friends, but Efren was always there to help Brittany carry her bags or tie her ice skates, while she helped him with his homework and cheered him on at every football game. He even used to sing to her while walking her home from school, and that’s when she really fell for him. On June 13, 2011, Efren asked Brittany to be his girlfriend after skipping football practice just to hang out with her at the library while she worked on her school project. From there, they grew up together - getting their driver’s licenses, going to prom, and buying their first car. After high school, they moved to the Big Island, where Brittany earned her Doctorate in Pharmacy and Efren earned 2 Bachelor’s degrees in Administration of Justice and Political Science. Together, they studied in California through Student Exchange and even sailed around the world on Semester at Sea, visiting 15 countries. After graduation, they returned to Oʻahu, adopted their "sweet, lovable" dog, Chewy, and continued their adventures to places like Korea and Japan before settling down and building their first house in Las Vegas. Finally, after 14 years together, Efren proposed to Brittany on May 23, 2025, surrounded by their family and friends. From high school sweethearts to lifelong partners, Efren and Brittany have grown through every chapter side by side, and now, they can’t wait to start their greatest adventure yet as husband and wife.
