We met in first period English, freshman year of high school. As Rick tells it, Chelsea walked in—and he just knew. Chelsea noticed him too: hilarious, magnetic, and, let’s be honest… a hot water polo guy. From the start, it was a push and pull. Chelsea made the first move with a call. Rick panicked and said he had soccer practice, despite it being 9:00 pm… then promptly got off the phone. 😅 By junior year, the timing clicked. We were both single. Rick was still funny. Chelsea was still fine. And this time, courage showed up. We started dating and quickly fell in love. Chelsea knew it was real at Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor, when Pretty Ricky’s “Your Body” played. Rick said, “I love this song.” Chelsea said, “I love y—this song too!” One week later, she told him the truth. He said it back. Life kept evolving. We stayed connected through college—even as we moved in different directions. After graduation, Rick asked Chelsea to be his girlfriend again—on the Summer Solstice. Since then: road trips, concerts, living together, growth, challenges, joy. Yes, we broke up… and we found our way back. Now—with two dogs, a few wild stories, a deep friendship, and one big promise—we’re here. Grateful. Grounded. And so ready to celebrate with the people who’ve been part of our journey. Let’s raise a glass to love that loops back—and gets even better the third time around.
