Edward and Yolonda's lives collided(literally) at a kickball game in Atlanta in the spring of 2006 where Yolonda says they “crashed into each other.” The kickball game was coordinated by a few of their mutual friends. From that point on, they would see each other at events and gatherings of friends. They started to get to know each other through these occasional meet ups. Edward, a New Orleans native, had recently relocated to Atlanta after Hurricane Katrina. Yolonda resided in Jesup, Ga but frequently visited family and friends in Atlanta. During one of her extended visits in 2007, the two spent almost every day together. They both felt a connection but their feelings remained unspoken. Edward says what initially caught his attention was “her smile…and as I got to know her, her helpful spirit.” They stayed in touch as friends for quite some time and then life caused a disconnect. They reconnected at a friend's event in 2009 and picked back up like no time had been lost. This was the beginning of what has now blossomed into a committed, loving relationship of 6 years. When asked how this relationship has affected their lives, Yolonda says, “Ed’s love has healed me.” Edward says that Yolonda's love has taught him “to be more giving, caring and patient.” This is a love that has stood and will stand the test of time. On October 3, 2018 Edward asked for Yolonda's hand in marriage and she said yes! On June 22, 2019 they will seal their love and declare their commitment. They are excited about sharing this divine day with you!
