We created the pear bears from our last names. Hung means 'bear' in Chinese. Pae can mean 'pear' in Korean. Thus, we are 2 pear bears!

In Chinese, the number 9 has the same pronunciation as a word meaning 'everlasting'. There is a traditional Chinese marriage custom, in which the groom has to give a Red Envelope containing a sum of money containing all 9's (such as $99.99) to bless a long-lasting marriage of the couple. This inspired the selection of our wedding date.
