FAQs

Question

What are the current COVID-19 restrictions in Chicago?

Answer

Chicago is currently in phase 4 of a 5-part reopening plan. In this phase, groups of up to 50 are allowed to gather. Restaurants are operating with capacity restrictions. Face masks are worn in indoor public venues. More information can be found here: https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/sites/covid-19/home.html

Question

Is it safe to attend?

Answer

We are complying with local ordinances and common sense to try to have the safest possible event. The venue is a large patio with an open roof, so we will essentially be outdoors. We are placing tables six feet apart, and complying with local rules regarding how many people can sit at a table (currently 6). We will have plenty of hand sanitizer available. We will not force you to embrace us if that makes you uncomfortable. Masks will not be required while you are at your table, but you will need to bring one to use as for walking around and inside the restaurant.

Question

Do I need to RSVP if I already said I'm coming?

Answer

There's no need to RSVP again if nothing has changed.

Question

Will there be a photographer?

Answer

Rodescu Hopkins will be onsite taking photos throughout the event. During the reception, he will be selling prints of all photos. Pricing is $20 for two 5x7" prints on professional photography paper.

Question

Are children allowed to attend?

Answer

Kids are welcome to attend the ceremony and dinner, but the venue cannot host them after 8pm.

Question

Where can I park?

Answer

Street parking is available, although we encourage anyone who is planning to drink to use Uber or Lyft to travel to and from the event.

Question

When is the earliest I can arrive?

Answer

Although the ceremony is at 4 pm, we plan to open doors at 3 pm.

Question

What's for dinner?

Answer

We will be serving a curated version of the Village Tap's normal menu: tacos, sliders, wings, and salads will be available. There will be vegetarian options. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions that you need us to accommodate, please feel free to reach out.

Question

How will dinner be served?

Answer

In order to prioritize safety, we cannot serve food buffet or family style. Everyone will be ordering their own dinner off of our curated menu. We will be breaking the ordering up in order not to overwhelm the venue's kitchen. Each table will be assigned an ordering block, each of which is spaced 15 minutes apart. You will receive your table assignment when you arrive. Please eat beforehand if you are concerned about timing.
