An unconventional event for an unconventional team. Pelican Lake has become our happy place; we want to share it with all the people we love. We will have the venue (https://pelicanlakesideresort.com/) from Friday May 29th to Monday June 1st. We welcome guests to spend as much or as little of that time with us as they are able, to enjoy the lake and the Northern air. This is an historic hotel that is unstaffed and rented as a single unit. For more info, see the 'travel' page. Rooms at the venue are limited, so we appreciate your understanding that those reservations will be confirmed directly on private channels. There will be plenty of beautiful and affordable alternative accommodations close by (see travel page). We will provide food, beer, and wine for Saturday, May 30th. We will have a modest spread of pastries and the like on Sunday morning. For the rest of the stay, the hotel is equipped with an industrial kitchen, four full size range-top stoves, four full sized ovens, a flat top, 2 grills (one oversized), and at least two refrigerators. There is also a full (unstocked) bar, and guests are encouraged to pack in whatever spirits or libations they enjoy. We will have enough coffee for everyone- unless you're a snob, then bring your own. Weather in the North Woods this time of year is as unpredictable as any lottery. There is potential for highs in the 30s, highs in the low 70s, lows in the 20s, lows in the 50s- you get it- keep an eye on your wildly inaccurate weather media outlets (no, this is not AI, I just use em dashes). The event is meant to be indoor/outdoor, but there is space enough to be indoor only if weather insists. Cocktail attire is humbly proposed for Saturday. As for the other days of the event, personally we like lakeside chic/ Up North pajamas/ Lumberjack soiree, but pretty much do you- it's why we love you.
