FAQs

The Wedding Website of Edward Cronin and Katarina Redekop
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests dress in semi-formal attire. For men: Suits are requested, with ties optional. For women: We suggest cocktail or formal dresses that fall below the knee. Dressy jumpsuits or coordinated sets are also welcome. Please opt for elegant fabrics like satin, chiffon, or crepe, and avoid anything too casual (like denim or overly casual sundresses). Out of respect for the bride, we kindly ask that guests do not wear white, cream, or very light shades that could be mistaken for white. The bridal party will be wearing sage green. Thank you for dressing to celebrate with us—we can't wait to see you looking fabulous!

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all take place at Mankin Mansion. The ceremony will take place outdoors (pending weather conditions), cocktail hour to take place in a hybrid setting, and reception indoors. For footwear discernment, the wedding ceremony area will mixed with paved areas, bricks, and some grass.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

In Richmond Virginia at the end of September you can expect you can expect pleasant, warm early autumn weather with highs typically around 80°F and lows around 60°F.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones, but we’re planning this as an adults-only celebration unless otherwise specified on your invitation. Think of it as a well-deserved night out or a fun date night!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We’re keeping our wedding small and intimate, so we’re only able to accommodate the guests specifically named on the invitation. If the person named on the invitation is unable to attend, please do not substitute another person as your plus-one. We hope you understand and know how much we’re looking forward to celebrating with you!

Question

Where can I give a gift?

Answer

Your presence is truly the greatest gift—we're so thankful you're taking the time to come celebrate with us! For those who wish to give a gift, we've included options on our Zola registry to contribute to specific funds (like our honeymoon) or specific gifts. Checks or cash are also welcome in a card at the event. All the details can be found on our Zola registry—linked on the “Registry” tab of this website. Thank you so much for your love and generosity!

Question

When is the RSVP deadline and how do I RSVP?

Answer

We are requesting all invited guests to RSVP via the RSVP page on our wedding website no later than August 15th.

Question

What will be the food and drink situation?

Answer

After the wedding ceremony, we will be serving light passed hors d’oeuvres accompanied by an open bar. We invite you to toast to our nuptials with a curated selection of cocktails, wine, and beer. Dinner will be served during the reception in a buffet fashion. We will be serving a selection of Southern BBQ and sides.
