Flight
The Burlington Airport (BTV) is small, and is only deemed "international" as it flies to Canada. It is approximately an hour and fifteen minutes drive from Cabot. Both Montreal (YUL) and Boston (BOS) are about equidistant, at a little over three hours drive. Both have bus services to Montpelier via Greyhound and Megabus. There are also Dartmouth Coach buses from Boston to Hanover, NH.
Train
There are trains via Amtrak that run from New York to Montpelier, Vermont for those who might prefer this mode of transportation
Travel Note
Cabot sits halfway between Montpelier, and Saint Johnsbury, about an half hour in either direction, while Burlington is a bit further at a little over an hour. It is an easy three hour drive from Montreal or three and a half from Boston
Travel Note
For the young and/or adventurous (not mutually exclusive), you are more than welcome to pitch a tent somewhere in the backyard or down the road at the neighbors, who have also graciously offered their backyard. If you are traveling from afar and interested in this option but need supplies, we may also be able to provide some things, if you let us know in advance. For those looking to sleep in a bed, we have gotten a special rate ($179 per nigh) at the Comfort Inn in St Johnsbury, just mention the Gulka/Jenkins Wedding when you book. We are working on organizing late night transportation back the the hotel after the reception. There are also B&Bs in the area in and around Cabot, and other hotels and motels a bit further to Montpelier or Saint Johnsbury. We are also going to try to arrange for people to stay in Cabot with friends as gracious hosts. If this is something that you are interested in, please let us know.
Hotel
We are working on getting an online discount code - for now, book by phone and mention "Gulka/Jenkins Wedding" to get our discounted rate.
