In Ghanaian culture, this is the formal ceremony where the two families officially meet. It’s more than just a ceremony between the couple; it’s a union of two families. You’ll see the groom’s family formally ask for the bride’s hand in marriage through a spokesperson and the presentation of gifts.
The reception will follow directly after the wedding ceremony, held in a traditional American style. Expect to dine, drink, and dance! Dinner will have both American and Ghanaian dining options for people to try and enjoy!
Traditional ceremonies tend to be longer than the usual wedding ceremony. Expect the proceedings to last for about 1-1.5 hours!
We'd love for you to wear spring cocktail attire. Feel free to embrace vibrant colors—we encourage it!
Your presence on our special day is the greatest gift of all, and your love and support mean everything to us. Please know that no gift is expected or necessary. That said, if you'd like to give us something, we would be deeply honored by a contribution to our honeymoon fund.
The ceremony starts at 2pm. There will be about 15min before the start of the proceedings to allow for our guests to get seated and settled!
Please let us know if you can make it by April 10th. You can RSVP right here on this website under the "RSVP" tab.
