We are renewing our vows

We first met at Our Lady of Angels School in 1994. Since 1994 is a bit of a blur for us both, we rely on pictures taken throughout the year from birthday celebrations, Halloween parties, and of course, our Kindergarten graduation. I even still have the card Eddie (aka his mom) gave me for my 5th birthday. Looking back at pictures from that year, we were always in pictures together. The most logical reason is that our last names fall neatly next to each other's in the alphabet. However, I'd like to think that there was a bigger plan set in motion.

Fast forward 20 years later, while browsing on Facebook, Johanna had posted a picture of our class in kindergarten. People began tagging our classmates in the photo, which is how I got to see Johanna again. I don't remember her from the class photo or anything really from kindergarten but I did know that I had to get to know her better. I started messaging her, making small talk and catching up on all the years that had passed. One thing lead to another and I finally gained the courage to ask her out on a date. We both met by the park near her job and when I first saw her all I could think was "Wow, she's beautiful." We walked together talking about what we do for a living and found out we had a lot in common working in the emergency world. As we got to know each other more through the night, watching Guardians of the Galaxy (which holds a special place in our hearts now), we both knew that this was more than just meeting up with an old friend.
