Our Engagement
One evening, Edmund got a phone call from some friends to hang out. He mentioned that he was hungry and had just finished at the gym, so he was up for it. They explained that they were actually at a friend's house and invited Edmund to come over. Edmund exclaimed, "No, I am not going over to your friend's house!" They responded with, "Well, our friend made food and made some for you." Edmund felt bad and did not want to be rude by not showing up, so he relented and went over. Arthur was unaware Edmund had even been invited, as the friends kept it a secret until Arthur opened the door and found Edmund standing there. Nor had Arthur, quote-unquote, "made food" for Edmund; he just so happened to have extras. Edmund, Arthur, and their friends hung out throughout the night, talking and having drinks. Eventually, the friends left for the evening, but Edmund stayed and continued to talk with Arthur. It was a chilly night, so Edmund mentioned he was going to head home because he was cold. Arthur, not wanting the conversation to end, lent Edmund one of his sweaters. At the end of the evening, Edmund was getting ready to leave and went to return the sweater, but Arthur told him to keep it, so they would have an excuse to see each other again on a date. The rest is history!
