Our Story

Caroline

Alex and I met at Georgia College in 2016. The first time I ran into Alex, I had just gotten off work late, and none of my roommates were supposed to be home so I pulled up to the house expecting to walk in without having to socialize. Instead there was about 6-8 people standing on the deck around a fire, I immediately knew Jake (He comes up a lot so I'll introduce him now. He is my friend, but also Alex's roommate) had invited people over* so I got out of the car, and in typical Caroline fashion, walked straight inside without saying much more than 'hey'. BUT not without noticing the new guy on the porch who was standing off to the side. What a great first impression, right?? I remember asking Jake who the guy was a few days later, and his response was "oh that's my roommate Alex. Y'all would be great together!" *Jake did not live at my house so I think any normal person would be annoyed by this Jump forward a little bit. It was Halloween weekend and my group of friends was going to a costume party. Jake brought a few extra people over with him, and Alex was one of them. I refuse to give Jake credit for setting us up, but thanks Jake. Alex was quiet, but he sparked an interest. The rest is basically history. (I am purposefully skipping over the part of me convincing him to hangout with me one time, but in my defense, it obviously worked (; ) Alex is hardworking, blunt (shocking, right?), funny, and caring. I could not be more thankful for the Lord's timing of bringing Alex into my life. I can't wait to be your wife. Here's to forever, AK.

Our Story

Alex

It was my first semester in Milledgeville, and I was not too keen on making too many friends outside of my already established friend group from home. My roommate (Jake, which I now realize played a huge part in this sequence of events) went over to his friend’s house every day and always asked me to go, but in my shy nature I always refused. The first time I went to Caroline’s house, I was sitting beside a fire on her porch with a bunch of people who didn’t live there. (*I probably should have noticed how odd this was, but I was with Jake who always plays things off as ‘Nah it’s all good.’) Caroline pulled up and literally stomped to her room in a very aggravated and “leave my house” kind of mood. And that was the first interaction with Caroline I ever had! (Good news, it gets better.) On Halloween in 2016, I went to a costume party with Jake which just so happened to be at Caroline’s house. We spent most of the night getting to know each other and eventually exchanged numbers. The next day we talked back and forth, and she asked me to come with her group of friends to another costume party. I’m pretty sure I told her I didn’t have a costume 10 times, but decided to go anyway. From then on, we started hanging out almost every day and I was introduced to so many things I lost track of what they were. Examples: Stacked, Stacked, Stacked. You would’ve thought this place manufactured gold. Our first date was to a Mexican restaurant, and I was extremely happy this girl convinced me to come to that Halloween party and spend time with her. Caroline is a kind hearted, caring, and gentle person who has transformed my life for the better. I could not have asked for a more perfect individual to share my life with. Thanks Carol, for being you and coming into my life when you did. I love you.
