Our Beginning

October, 2016

After a close call with meeting in the summer of 2016 via one dating app, we ultimately found each other (while at work, as those locations were in range to each other, as opposed to our home locations at the time) through Bumble. After about a week of talking, we decided to have our first date on Saturday, October 22nd in Ed's home town at the time, Phoenixville. Despite the fact that Ed had just adopted our dog Jimi that day (and despite the dangers of meeting a stranger in an unfamiliar town, one hour away, at night) we still decided to go through with it. We spent the evening walking around Phoenixville, talking, laughing, and bonding immediately. It was on our second date, at Thai L'Elephant, that we both knew we were in love. We would spend the next 10ish months keeping in constant communication throughout the week, while spending all of our weekends together, mostly in Phoenixville. In September of 2017, we moved in to our first place together, a nice house on Phoenixville's North Side.

The Proposal

May 26, 2018

We were going to Ocean City, Maryland for Memorial Day Weekend in 2018. I'll never forget talking to (fine, nagging!) Ed as we were crossing the 59th Street bridge about getting engaged. "Do you really want to be someone's boyfriend in your 40s?", I gracelessly asked. Well, after we arrived and got our bags in the house, Ed suggested we go for a walk on the beach. I wasn't really feelin' it- it was really windy and we were going to be heading out for a nice dinner, and I didn't want to have to put much work in to getting ready again beforehand. It felt like Ed was being oddly quiet and moving extra slowly. As we got back to the vicinity of the street our house is on, Ed said "Hold on, there's something in my shoe." He wasn't even wearing shoes! But when I turned around, he was on one knee, presenting me with the most perfect ring I could ever dream of. Needless to say, I still feel bad for hounding him to get married, knowing that he was planning on proposing within an hour of my nagging him to do so!

For all the days along the way
