Ed: We met at a dinner with her dad, which is my mom's schoolmate in High School, together with her cousin Reymond which is also my close friend, last October 2018. This was the time she recently moved here in Los Angeles. We remained friends for many years even if she wasn't interested with me because she was still in a serious relationship. We saw each other again after more than a year when we went for Korean BBQ with friends, Covid came, then after a year we saw each other again thru her cousin. Months after that, she DM me thru Instagram about her cousin Reymond's birthday, she wanted to celebrate it with us, and as a friend I asked her if she had moved on already from her past relationship. I received a handful of replies explaining everything, lol that's how she is. She always explains everything. From that DM, we continued texting daily. I remembered, she asked me from that DM if "Type Mo Ba Ako o Hindi?" which means, Do You Like Me or Not? (The famous Winnie tagline) lol and then I answered let's see. (",) From that time on, we got acquainted and knew we had a mutual understanding. Weeks after that we finally saw each other and went on a date. After the date, I told her I like her and asked if I could court her, it took a month of courting and finally she did decide. The greatest decision of her life (hehe) and she didn't regret it at all! We were officially a couple on October 24, 2021. We constantly traveled around California, spend time together during our days off. Winnie: The first time I met Ed was at a dinner with my cousin Reymond Ian, my dad, and Ed's parents last October 17, 2018, never knew that something beautiful would come along between us 3yrs after. I moved to LA from Texas last Oct. 16, 2018 with a lot of reasons. One of which is to settle with my former partner. Never knew that God has different plans for me in California. And yes, I knew I will settle here now, but with someone who is really destined for me forever. Initially, I thought of Ed as “Kuya” because he is older than me and he's my cousin’s friend. I met him a year after to dine out with friends and my cousin. Then after, I met him again July 2021 when he volunteered to pick up my aunt from the airport. Then there was this DM that happened Aug. 23, 2021, the reason for this DM is to invite my cousin thru him in a birthday dine out probably a surprise if possible. I wish to invite my cousin for a birthday dinner together with his friends because I felt Iike I always get my birthday treats and I need to return a favor. So as the conversation goes thru IG, Ed asked me If I have moved on with my past relationship, this past relationship ended Oct. 2020. That question had me curious to asked back if he like me thus per my screenshot I asked “type mo ba ako?” (“do you like me?) He answered back “Pwede din type kita bakit hindi hehe” (“Probably I like you, why not? Lol”), these are the exact words and the conversation goes on and on, day and night till we finally decided to set a dinner date on Sept. 6, 2021. The birthday dinner for my cousin didn’t happen anymore, he was too busy. The courtship lasted more than a month, I asked him too many questions, hard real-life questions, scrutinized him from head to toe, even looked for his legal documents, those who know me, will laughingly know that I do these. I showed him all my flaws to somehow see if he is for real or not, but he never stops courting me, he was too consistent, so kind and so loving. Ed was so persistent, he is a stand out from other guys I talked before, he is certain and sincere. It took me some time to say yes since I need to be sure how I feel, I just don’t want to enter into another relationship if I am not ready and if I don't feel the same way. So, on Oct. 24, 2021, I said yes to be his lover, I saw that he was authentic to me and I'm comfortable with him. He makes me happier and makes my life easier. I felt loved and I love him too.

Ed: I planned a trip that week to go somewhere either the beach or the mountains, but decided to go to Ventura, and tour her around the city. We went to Serra Cross Park, elevated part of Ventura which has a panoramic oceanview and surrounding neighborhood. I decided to do the proposal there. I tried to do the kneeling gesture but the timing was not right because there were a lot of people in the area. When we’re about to leave the place, she went to the other side of the park with less people and that was the time I just gave her the box with the ring and said will you marry me? (“,) She thought it was just a gift. but that was an engagement ring. I also planned that the proposal date should have a number 8 as it is believed to be lucky and a symbol of infinity. Winnie: It was early morning of May 18, 2022 when Ed and I went out to Ventura City. We usually go out on days off minimum once a week and this is one of those normal days. Never did I thought he would propose that day. Days before the proposal I had a dream of having been married to Ed and I was waking up telling the story to him about the wedding photographer not getting my good angles. Ed was secretly laughing in his head since he had bought the ring without me suspecting that the proposal is coming. When Ed gave me the ring, I remembered him saying that with or without a child he will marry me. I really thought it was a gift and was asking him for what occasion since it was not my birthday yet. Though this proposal came as a surprise at 7months in our relationship, I knew that my answer will be YES. There were days that I told myself that I would marry Ed even prior to proposal. He is a loving and kind person, genuine and truly committed in our relationship. I have seen how his words and actions aligned in his expression of love to me each day. Honestly, I thought he would propose on my birthday, September 20th. Ed told me that he actually thought of that day too but he don’t want to wait that longer since he is certain of our relationship. And that is how the proposal came and happened. (",)
