We've actually always been closer to one another before actually meeting, we hung out with similar crowds, went to similar hang outs, but never crossed paths. It wasn't until well into our teens where we were lucky enough to meet one another. If you know Edgar, you know Randy, Edgar's extroverted life long friend. See Kailee's cousin Morgan, the maid of honor, went to school with Edgar, but her and Edgar were never close. Edgar would then find out about Kailee through another mutual friend, and just like every other assist in life, Edgar knew Randy could help him get the insight. Sure enough social media's were exchanged, but Kailee was adamant of remaining just friends. We spent the next few weeks talking for hours either through text, snapchat's, or talking on the phone to the extent where Oscar, Edgar's older brother would politely ask him to "shut the hell up and go to bed." Finally on a random summer night foreshadowing the first of many occasions where Edgar would reach out to Morgan to help set up some elaborate plan to surprise Kailee. Said plan was to see Morgan and Kailee before they head out on a family vacation, and he had gotten a fortune cookie from a website that definitely wasn't FDA approved, with a fortune that read "will you be my girlfriend?". Cheesy? yes, but not enough for Kailee to say no. The next six years would consist of a whole bunch of adventures like haunted house's, a bunch of marvel movies, nicklerama, wax museums, aquariums, picnics, theme parks, beach vacations that Kailee refused to get into the water, 2 graduations, 2 proms, 3 apartments, a pandemic, and a very spoiled dog. With a bunch of memorable moments like Kailee teaching Edgar how to camp, fish, ride four wheelers, all the horror movies and separating his laundry, to Edgar showing Kailee non-touristic Mexico, opening gifts at 12AM Christmas morning, closing pizza boxes, movies that don't feature some psycho killer, Mortal Kombat, and of course The Kansas City Chiefs. That brings us to our Engagement summer 2023 Edgar's 24th birthday, or so Kailee thought. On the hottest day of the summer, Edgar being the bright individual he is, booked a photographer to walk around the Arbor Hills Nature preserve. Pictures here and pictures there until we walked into what Kailee thought was a homeless person playing the guitar, but really was her cousin Jacob. As Jacob sang his rendition of Brett Young's "Incase you didn't know", surrounded by friends and family, on the bridge of the observation tower, Edgar got down on one knee and asked the easiest question of his life, "will you marry me?" this time not even needing the fortune cookie.
