The myth...the legend...the famous Buc-ee's rest stop between Dallas and Tyler is a great place to take a break to stretch your legs and walk around, located right off of I-20. A southern staple. Gas station with a huge convenience store inside with local made foods, including fresh BBQ, a MUCH larger selection of gas station treats and snacks, and a large gift shop full of gifts people would actually like. Not to mention some of the cleanest gas station bathrooms you've ever seen.
Need any last minute shopping? S. Broadway Avenue has a plethora of shopping areas including Broadway Square Mall, The Villages at Cumberland, and a few strip malls in between. **Caution: South Broadway Avenue is notorious for heavy traffic. On occasion it does standstill due to red lights between Grande Ave. and Target, but most of the time it's just a lot of drivers.** https://www.simon.com/mall/broadway-square https://thevillageatcumberlandpark.com/
There are several Whataburgers all over Tyler, this one is a Hot Rod Cafe with cars inside. If you have never been before and you want something quick to eat, Whataburger is a staple in the southern states. One of Edgar's favorite burger joints. Most of the locations in Tyler have themed memorabilia (rock'n'roll guitars, hot rods, etc.) inside and all of the locations are tasty.
