Once upon a time, we both signed up to be summer camp counselors. We spent our summer hanging out with hundreds of kids, spent lots of time at the beach, played games, ate popsicles, and went on lots of field trips! The last trip of the year was a BIG one, Canobie Lake Park. Traditionally, most counselors buddy up for the day and so I invited Edgar to tag along with my group! One of us LOVES amusement park rides, one of us does NOT. So when it came time to ride the newest, fastest, upside-down roller coaster; I was there. Edgar however, was not quite so enthused. But regardless, I convinced him to go with me and it was in that moment, top of the roller coaster, about to dive down and take off, that we held hands for the first time. And the rest is history!
Where to even begin to describing one of the happiest days of our lives? We started the day packing for our weekend trip up north with our friends! In the afternoon, the boys headed to our destination to get "settled in" while Ashley and I headed to a winery for some tasty drinks. After a long and very bumpy ride, we arrived at our weekend destination; a quaint little cottage tucked into a snowy landscape. I made my way inside to check it out and found myself looking at a room filled with candles and pictures from the past seven years of our lives together. Rose petals covered the floor and across the room was Edgar, waiting for me anxiously by a fireplace. We shared a beautiful moment and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him; it was the easiest "yes" that I have ever said! It was then, that our friends and families popped out and congratulated us; we popped some bubbly and rushed out for an engagement dinner at a local restaurant. BEST. DAY. EVER.
