As you all probably already noticed, Dunkin'- or as we once knew it, Dunkin' Donuts (who approved the name change?) is a big part of our life<3 I (Eden) started working at the Dunkin' in my hometown when I was in high school. I was forced to wake up before 5am and everyone that came through the drive thru had not had their morning coffee yet so attitudes were heightened. BUT I loved being a barista, so much so that when I moved to Gainesville for college, I went in and demanded that I work at the Dunkin' close to my apartment. Well, they turned me away and instead told me that the shitty Dunkin' on the other side of town could use some help. The vibes were different for sure. It was quiet, not many customers, and the hours went by slower than I had ever felt. A couple months into working there, my manager starts referring to someone as "the high schooler" (yes, time to make the cougar jokes) and giving me small tasks to help them when they come in for closing. Weeks went by and I had not seen "high schooler" yet until I was scheduled for a mid-day shift- this meaning that I would be working with this mystery person for an hour or so. Y'all, I don't know what was in the air, but that high schooler was pretty dang cute. Immediately, I was texting my best friend wondering if I'm crazy and hoping that I get put on more mid-day shifts. (Spoiler: I do.) We didn't talk much and he was so shy, but I loved the mystery of "who is he?" I started coming up with excuses to come through the drive thru on my days off and I would like to believe he was doing the same because that boy was always showing up asking for a sweet tea on his day off. I eventually started getting put on closing shifts and one night I was in the back making those cute little spider donuts you see at Dunkin' during Halloween time. Anthony came in and made fun of how they looked, we had a short exchanging of words, he made his sweet tea, and then went on his way. I texted my best friend and after convincing me I should text him; I went to his profile on our work scheduling app and said "Now I'm insecure about my donuts". He wasn't the best texter and I absolutely could not pick up on whether he liked me or not, but it wasn't long until we had our first date! We met at the movies one night after he closed, shared lots of laughs over the comically large slushie that he bought that dyed our mouths black and then very awkwardly hugged and went our separate ways. (I did find out quite some time later that he went back to Dunkin' and finished closing after our date...bless his heart.) Less than 2 months and several memorable dates later...on November 16th, 2019, he officially asked me to be his girlfriend by putting a butterfly-shaped Pandora ring on my finger (that I still wear today) and the rest is history!
