It's not often that you get to keep an exact record of the first interaction with your future spouse but thanks to some quick foresight on behalf of the groom, Ally and Eddie have exactly that. Date: March 31, 2019 Ally: I saw a pug in a wheelchair yesterday morning and I'm still thinking about it. My heart 💕💕 Eddie: Oh man... I would be too... Was it one of those little doggie wheelchairs? Ally: Yes 😭 I regret not saying hi to the couple but they were deep in conversation and I looked like a psychopath walking out of the gym. Eddie: I mean probably the tactful thing to do. I would have probably attempted to pet it though. What did you do this weekend? Ally: Went out to dinner Friday night with a friend, went to party last night, and finally did my taxes today. The app was Bumble and the reason Ally had brought up the pug she had just seen was because all of Eddie's profile pictures included Zoe, his roommate's exceptionally photogenic pug. A week later, the two met at Grendel's Den (and then a few hours later switched to "Noir" in the Charles Hotel) in Harvard Square for their first date. They soon learned that not only did they share a lot of the same interests and values, they also worked in buildings across the street from each other. A few months later, the two were meeting each other's friends and families, and a few months after that they spent 2019 New Year's Eve with Eddie's family in Huatulco, Mexico, excited and hopeful for all of the wonderful things 2020 would surely bring. Of course, come March everything was shut down thanks to the global pandemic and Ally and Eddie were suddenly facing a very different reality. They were soon (along with Eddie's roommates) the only people they were seeing in person thanks to Covid regulations. Jackbox game nights over Zoom, Tiger King, and outdoor workout classes on rowing machines in the North End served to only strengthen their bond over the following next few months. A year and a half later the two of them were living together and had a dog of their own, Penny. In August 2022, Eddie proposed and the two could not be happier and more excited about their future together. #AllysHandInMarriage
