Welcome!

Maria and I first met at a college party in St. Edward’s Hall at Notre Dame. She had come with her friend Stephanie (who’s now a bridesmaid!), and we had a great time talking to each other. A few things stuck out to me immediately when I first started talking to Maria: she was cute, nice, had a good sense of humor (as in she laughed at my jokes), and she always makes you feel listened to. “I thought that he was funny and cute and SO sweet, and I specifically remember telling Stephanie how much I enjoyed meeting him.” -Maria We only saw each other occasionally for the rest of the semester, but I always got excited + a little nervous whenever we ran into each other on campus. We studied in the library together with our friends, went to a few more parties together, and we ended up becoming closer friends. “I was so excited when he came over to ask if I wanted to go study with them, and I remember laughing so much and just having the best time. When he met my parents for the first time, it was just as a friend borrowing something from our house, but afterwards my Mom asked me if we were more than friends." -Maria When the next school year started, we asked each other to dances hosted by our respective dorms, and we kind of danced around asking the other person out until one Sunday night, when we went to Mass in the Keenan Hall Chapel. I told myself that it was time to finally ask Maria out as soon as I finished walking her back to her dorm. I was super nervous on the walk, knowing that when we got to the door, I’d have to just go for it and ask her. As it turns out, we both had the same idea: we were almost all the way back when she asked ME out instead. She beat me to it! “I had been hyping myself up for all of Mass and I knew if I waited until we got to the door I would back out.” -Maria And now, after more than five years of being together, we are so excited to be with our friends and family and get married where we first met!
