How We Met

05/17/2013

Like most millennials we met the old-fashioned way through Instagram. He noticed that I never responded to other flirtatious comments, so he began to win me over with sarcastic compliments that never had anything to do with my actual appearance. One sarcastic comment led to another and I pulled the first move to meet up on a facetime call. After over 2 months of getting to know each other he finally booked my plane ticket to come meet him in Virginia. Hands down the best decision ever made.

The Proposal

01/18/2020

After surviving 3 years of long distance while Ed was in the Navy, we knew we couldn't live without each other. Getting engaged and married was just a matter of timing. So, weeks leading to the proposal my mom’s side of the family insisted on a family photoshoot with my grandma. This gave them all the creative freedom to direct how good I looked that day (I'm always in sweatpants). I suspected he was up to something, but it was too orchestrated for me to truly believe he was going to propose that day lol. We showed up early for the "family photoshoot" at the Mission Inn in Riverside. As we walked up to the front, I spotted a friend from the military with what seemed to be his dog. I was so confused running into them, but when I knelt to pet the dog the next thing, I knew Ed was on one knee. I said "Yes" of course, to which we hugged forever then followed by "This is our new dog!!"
