In short their story is more than 4 years long... Haha! Kirst and Ed met doing the YOYL program at Kloof Harvest Church. Ed saw her and fell in love and Kirst wanted nothing to do with him (she was pretending). See... They were on the same team for everything during their gap year. Cooking, cleaning, gardening... EVERYTHING. Ed, as he does, loves playing around and having fun and Kirst just could not help but be drawn to his free-spirited and childlike nature. Then fast forward through multiple conversations of "this will never happen" and dating and breaking up and dating and breaking up again, then there was silence. Everyone knew that this silence would not last long, but for reals, they were both just seeking Jesus and feeling quite hopeless. LOL Then the best day of their lives happened. It was their good friends', Anica and Graydon's wedding. It could have been a bit awks because they were both a part of the bridal party. There was that beautiful moment after the newly married couple's first dance where everyone else could come and enjoy a nice slow dance with their loves. They were standing on opposite sides of the room when their Senior Pastors, Yvonne and Roger shouted to Kirst and asked why she was not dancing with Ed. They then shouted to Ed that he needed to ask Kirst to dance. Some how through a lot of shouting and egging on they ended up hand in hand on the dance floor (the best moment of Ed's life(and Kirst's)). FIREWORKS. BUTTERFLIES. EUPHORIA. Is this even real??? They didn't want to stop dancing, even when an upbeat song came on. Then from that moment everything clicked and fell into place. Just short of a year later they got engaged. Now here we are asking you to celebrate our wedding with us, we could not be more excited to have you a part of our story!
