How We Met

Who says a sinking ship always has to be a bad thing?

We first met doing a community theater production of Titanic: The Musical and later started to become better friends (rather than just show acquaintances) after realizing how similar some of the events in our personal lives were. Ed and I began spending more and more time together, I was claimed as "my Cara" by Laylah, and the rest is history! We have faced many ups and downs together over the years, and in doing so, have become the best version of "us" there could be. Now, we're so excited to make it officially "official" on our next big adventure together!

The Proposal

Ed, Laylah, and I were down in Ocean City with my family for Easter. Things were starting to wrap up and we were going to be heading home soon, and Ed suggested taking a quick walk down to the beach "to get our toes in the sand" before we left. We'd talked about wanting to do that prior to coming down for the day, so I didn't think anything of it. I hadn't known, of course, that Ed had spoken to my father earlier that week about his plan to propose! We were on the beach watching Laylah run around, when she ran up and excitedly showed us all the shells she'd collected. "Is that what you came here for?" Ed asked Laylah. She gleefully shouted, "Yeah!" and ran off again. Ed then looked at me, smiled, and said "Well, I know what YOU came here for!" To which I responded, "Huh?" He then knelt down, pulled out the ring box, and asked me to be his wife.
