For Ed, it all began on August 30, 2014, during a spontaneous trip to the carnival with his friend Nerie. He didn’t expect that Nerie would bring along two others — Ate Mae and Amy (who would later become his “baby”). After the carnival, the group decided to go to Emall for karaoke, where Ed sang “Beautiful Soul.” When the night ended and they started heading home, Ed and Amy naturally walked side by side. Before parting ways, they exchanged numbers — and that simple exchange turned into long conversations that lasted until he got home. There was no chat back then, just endless texting. Fast forward to September 3, 2014, Ed went to see Amy to personally invite her to his upcoming birthday. When his birthday came on September 7, he asked her to go to church with him and his close friend Yeng. After the mass, they went home to celebrate together at Ed’s house.
