Our best advice for out-of-town friends & family

Travel Note

Things to Do in Dallas

Fun things to do with kids: - Discovery Plaza downtown (food, entertainment, super cool) - Dallas World Aquarium - Perot Nature & Science Museum - Klyde Warren Park (playground, restaurants, food trucks) - Take the streetcar from Union Station to Bishop Arts to shop around and have breakfast / lunch - Take red line train to Dallas Zoo Less kid-friendly ideas: - Coffee at the Adolphus or Joule Hotel’s Weekend Coffee (or Ascension at the Crescent - Amanda's fav swanky coffee restaurant!) - Fort Worth’s Kimball Museum if you have a car? (Or Uber from TRE train station) - Shopping / lunch in Deep Ellum (near downtown) or Lower Greenville (north on Greenville Ave from Henderson Ave) - Nasher Sculpture Garden - Texas Discovery Garden (epic butterfly exhibit & greenhouse!)

Flight

Dallas Love Field Airport

In the heart of the city, it's easiest to get around to/from here, especially by ride share. That is if the airlines that fly here are convenient for you. DFW International will have more airline and schedule options though. Both connect by Dallas Area Rapid Transit train to Downtown Dallas. At DFW Airport take the shuttle to Terminal A then follow the signs. At Dallas Love Field take the shuttle to Inwood/Love Field Station and head south to Downtown.

Shuttle

Shuttles on Wedding Day

Shuttles will be available on wedding day to carry guests downtown hotels to the ceremony and reception and back home. Shuttles to the ceremony will depart for the ceremony at 3:15 pm from in front of the Statler Hotel. Shuttles returning to the Statler Hotel will be available starting at 8:30pm and running every 30 min, for those who forgot their dancing shoes ;)

Other Hotels Nearby

Downtown Dallas has a great variety of hotel options a short walk from the Statler. If you're looking for an up-scale experience, we recommend the Thompson Hotel, The Adolphus, or and the Joule. If all you need is a bed, but not too shabby, the new SOVA Micro-Hotel is a great choice. For a less expensive standard hotel experience, we'd recommend the Aloft Downtown Dallas, Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Dallas, or Hampton Inn and Suites. All within a few blocks of the shuttle pickup and the afterparty at the Statler.

Train

Dallas Area Rapid Transit

Trains connect through Downtown and Uptown and to the airports. Download the GoPass app to purchase tickets and plan rides.

Train

Oak Cliff Streetcar

If you're staying downtown, the Oak Cliff Streetcar will take you directly to Amanda's neighborhood, one of the coolest parts of town if we do say so ourselves! It leaves from Houston Street near Union Station and Young St and runs until midnight. You'll need to download the GoPass app (by DART) to ride.
