Question

Will transportation be provided to and from the venue?

Answer

Yes! We are offering transportation to and from the venue if you are staying at Rockport Inn & Suites. If you'd like to take the bus but aren't staying onsite, you can drive to the hotel and leave your car. If you drive yourself, there is ample parking onsite at Misselwood. The shuttle will arrive at Rockport Inn and Suites at 4:30 pm and will depart no later than 4:40 pm. The shuttle will depart the venue following the reception, at approximately 11:15 pm. It will drop guest back off at Rockport Inn and Suites. If you’d like to attend the after party but are staying offsite in Gloucester or Rockport, there will be a shuttle that can drive you back to your hotel from 12:00 am-3:00 am. If you choose to take the shuttle, you can leave your car at the hotel overnight and pick it up the next morning.

Question

I want to attend the after party but am not staying at the hotel. What do I do?

Answer

No problem! If you are staying in Gloucester or Rockport, we have booked an SUV shuttle from 12:00-3:00 am. It will be available to drop you off at your hotel/house to ensure everyone can get home safely. You are more than welcome to leave your car at the hotel and pick it up the next morning. Safety first!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We ask that guests dress in formal/festive attire. Curious what we mean by that? See below for a description: This dress code is slightly less formal than a black-tie wedding. So, a tuxedo isn't required, but can still be worn if preferred. Suits and ties of all colors/fabrics are also acceptable. For women, the outfit choices include: a floor-length gown, a fancy cocktail dress, or a dressy pantsuit. We want everyone's personal style to shine through, so please don't be afraid to wear bright colors/patterns!

Question

Will the wedding be outside?

Answer

Yes! Our ceremony will take place on a grass lawn. The reception will take place in a tent, so we recommend bringing a shall or jacket in case it gets chilly later in the evening.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to venue capacity limits, we unfortunately cannot offer plus ones to every guest. Your invitation will reflect who is invited, but please reach out if you have any questions once you receive the invitation.

Question

Can you share additional details about the welcome party?

Answer

Yes! We will be hosting welcome drinks for anyone who is arriving on Friday evening. We will have a cash bar, so please plan to eat dinner before heading over. We have included a few of our favorite spots on the website. Drinks will take place at Minglewood Tavern, which is located in downtown Gloucester (25 Rogers St, Gloucester, MA 01930). For parking, there are two lots immediately to the left and right of the restaurant, as well as street parking. See below for the lots' addresses that you can plug into your GPS. 2 Commercial St, Gloucester, MA 01930 45 Rogers St, Gloucester, MA 01930

Question

Can you share additional details about the brunch?

Answer

The Sunday brunch will be hosted at The Echavarri's house in Gloucester. This will be a very casual open house event, with light breakfast and drinks provided. We're hoping people can stop by on the way out of town to say goodbye - both Eric and Amanda will be hanging there throughout the day. If you have a later flight or are looking to extend your weekend away a bit further, you are welcome to hang as long as you like. The house is right on the water and we have kayaks, paddleboards, etc, so bring your bathing suit!

Question

Can I use Uber/Lyft to get around the island?

Answer

Yes! However, Lyft and Uber are just becoming popular on the island, so you may need to wait longer than usual for a ride. We recommend scheduling a car or booking far in advance if you choose to use a ride share company during the weekend. Gloucester also has a very reliable taxi service that operates on the island, which you can use if you need transportation during the weekend (especially if you don't want to drive to our welcome drinks). Gloucester Taxi & Livery Service Inc: (978) 283-0099

Question

I want to explore the island before the wedding. Any recommendations?

Answer

Yes! To start, both downtown Rockport and Gloucester have an abundance of art galleries, clothing & jewelry stores, coffee shops and restaurants. We recommend exploring either area on Saturday or Sunday. If you're looking to relax, there are plenty of beaches, and since our wedding is after Labor Day, you should be able to park onsite. We recommend Good Harbor or Wingaersheek, but there is also Front Beach in downtown Rockport if you're looking for a quick tanning/swim session. Gloucester also operates multiple whale watches out of its harbor. These multi-hour trips are beautiful excursions with the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife - including humpback whales! Not seeing something that interests you? Reach out to Amanda, Eric or the Echavarri family and they will point you in the right direction (e.g. museums, golf courses, hiking/walking trails)!
