We matched on the dating app bumble and the rest is history, just kidding, kind of. Haley was particularly intrigued to come across a man in San Diego who had any kind of Midwest connection. She noticed on Cody's profile he was an alum of NIU where she visited numerous times throughout her undergraduate college years visiting her Huskie friends. One of her first questions was why and how could you possibly move from CA to DeKalb, IL and their banter got started. Cody noticed the sweet plus one (Daizy of course) that was featured in some of Haley's photos and wanted to learn more about both his soon to be girls. They continued to find more and more commonalities and get to know each other. After a discussion of their plans one Saturday, a bold (and drunk) Haley invited Cody to come meet her and her friends out at their favorite local dive bar, Sunshine Company Saloon. They went on their first real date to Civico 1845 in Little Italy in San Diego 48 hours later and then truly it was all history from there.
