Our Story

Kaley and Shane met in New York City in May 2021, for a first date at a cozy bar & restaurant in the Financial District of Manhattan. We spent the summer exploring new restaurants, having picnics in Central Park, and escaping the heat at the pool in Shane's apartment building in Jersey City, where we eventually moved in together in a new apartment of our own! For the last few years, we've enjoyed exploring everything that New York City has to offer (particularly the dessert shops); summer trips to Traverse City, MI and the beach in Ocean City, NJ; traveling to new places together like Angry Orchard, NY, Nashville, TN, and Stowe, VT; and of course, attending Eagles football games and seeing our favorite artists in concert together! Shane proposed to Kaley in Central Park on April 28th, 2024! Her only request was to have someone capture the moment with a photo, so when they went for a picnic on that beautiful, sunny Sunday in April, Kaley knew something was up when Shane asked a random stranger to take a photo of the two of them on the bridge (he NEVER initiated photos...). Thankfully, the stranger handled it very well and started recording a video immediately! Shane doesn't remember everything he said, but it was such a special moment in the city that we met and the easiest "YES!" ever! Since then, we've said goodbye to our one-bedroom apartment in the city and started our next chapter in the suburbs of Philadelphia! Only a train ride away from NYC, but with a lot more space for us to call home. We are so excited to bring all of our closest family and friends together to celebrate our wedding in Detroit!!
